Working in high-risk jobs means your clothing needs to do more than just keep you comfortable; it needs to protect you. Our Hi Vis FR Clothing collection combines flame resistance with high visibility, giving you reliable safety gear for the most demanding work environments.
What Is FR Clothing & Why It Matters
Flame-resistant clothing is specially made to protect workers from heat, flames, and electrical arcs. It doesn't catch fire easily and self-extinguishes if it does. This makes a big difference when seconds matter. But it’s not just about fire; many job sites require gear that makes workers easy to spot.
That’s where FR clothing's high visibility comes in. It mixes two important safety features: fire protection and bright colors with reflective stripes. This helps drivers and machine operators see you even in low light or bad weather.
These garments are often required on job sites with arc flash risks, flash fire hazards, and high heat zones. They meet key safety standards like NFPA 70E and ANSI/ISEA 107, ensuring you're protected by tested and trusted gear.
Where to Use High Vis FR Clothing
Not all jobs are created equal; some are just more dangerous. High-visibility FR Clothing is designed for tough environments where both fire hazards and visibility risks are present.
You’ll often see this gear in places like:
- 1. Oil and gas fields
- 2. Utility and power line work
- 3. Railroad operations
- 4. Roadside construction zones
- 5. Industrial plants
- 6. Mining and welding sites
Workers are exposed to electric arc flashes, flash fires, and moving vehicles in these environments. Wearing the right FR Hi Vis Clothing can help reduce injuries and even save lives.
Features to Look for in Hi Viz FR Clothing
Choosing the right gear starts with knowing what features matter. Here’s what to keep an eye on when shopping for Hi Viz FR Clothing:
- 1. Flame Resistance (FR Rated): Garments should have proper arc ratings and meet standards like NFPA 2112 or NFPA 70E for flame protection.
- 2. High Visibility: Look for bright colors like yellow or orange and reflective striping that shines under headlights or low light.
- 3. Durable Fabrics: Workwear should be tough but still breathable for long shifts.
- 4. Comfort Fit: Raglan sleeves, gusseted arms, and vented backs help with movement and airflow.
- 5. PPE Compliance: Clothing should follow OSHA requirements and industry best practices for flame- and arc-rated gear.
This combination of features helps protect you from burn hazards while keeping you seen at all times.

FAQs About FR Hi Vis Clothing
Q1. What makes FR clothing different from regular workwear?
FR clothing is made from special materials that resist flames and self-extinguish. It protects workers from flash fires, arc flashes, and heat. Regular workwear can melt or burn, putting you at greater risk.
Q2. Is FR clothing required for specific jobs?
Yes. Many jobs in construction, oil & gas, electric utilities, and emergency response require FR gear. OSHA and other organizations often mandate it when workers get exposed to fire or electrical hazards.
Q3. Can I wash flame-resistant clothing at home?
Yes. Most FR garments can be washed at home using mild detergent. Avoid using bleach or fabric softeners. Always check the label and understand the care instructions to maintain its protective properties.
Q4. Does FR clothing expire?
FR protection doesn’t "expire," but it can wear out. Look for signs like fading, tearing, or worn-out reflective strips. If the gear shows damage, it's time to replace it.
Q5. How is Hi Vis different from FR?
High visibility helps others see you. Flame resistance helps protect you from fire. FR Hi Vis gear combines both features for full-body safety.
